[music |Mika Nakashima - Hitoiro]

Hey all.... haven't posted in a bit, pre-Christmas social gatherings have been rather hectic and have prevented me from doing so ^^;

Anyway the bigs news of the day is that I have created a MYSPACE account! So if you use myspace too, plz add me 'cause I dun wanna stay a complete nigel forever T__T Unlike Hi 5 and Friendster, I may actually use this new thingy with some degree of frequency, as it allows for much more customisation! Anyway, even if you dun have a Myspace, you can check it out (I put lots of pics up yo!) and perhaps consider making your own ^_^

Yesterday was Sir3n Entertainment's big birthday bash in the form of Aurora at Space nightclub. The place was packed as hell, with the line going all the way down from the Shark Bar entrance right down to the Commonwealth bank on Liverpool St o_O Luckily one of my friends knew the bouncer so we were able to ninja in and avoid the queue ^o^ I had a really awesome time for a variety of reasons ^_________^

I was meant to goto Bamboo today but I was far too tired so I opted for a quite one in and went bowling with my cousin instead. Somehow managed a Turkey and got 155 points which I think is my highest score ever @_@ Yay me!

Anyway hope you're all enjoying the festive season, not long to go now till Xmas! ^_^

[music |Teriyaki Boyz - Tokyo Drift]

Well I promised to update with some pics so here they are! Most were actually only ones I've taken over this weekend though XD

A shot I took of myself on the train, while heading to Space that night ^^ There was a charity club event called 'Spare Change' which had about 21 DJ's giving up their time to work for free, so I thought it was worth going too. All proceeds went to the Cancer Council, and it was overall a pretty awesome night. Met a lot of people there I hadn't seen in ages, and got to do some rather intimate dancing with a rather cute girl <3 The best part of the night was when they played 'Tokyo Drift' though, because the song comes from the best movie ever created, and the awesomeness of it all had me in tears.

A rather cool shot I took of my friends waiting for a bus to come from USyd to take us to the city. Oh, we were at USyd earlier that same evening because there was a party going on there that a friend of mine wanted to check out. Turned out to be a dud though, and to make matters worse I had to walk in the rain, which killed half the elevation of my hair =(

Went to Maroubra beach today for the first time with some friends ^^ I've been to Bondi and Manly before but this was my first time Maroubra so it was kinda exciting, to begin with anyway. The sun was nice, but it was extremely windy so it was impossible to play volleyball on the beach (much to the dismay of my friend who bought a net just for this event), and I accidentally almost crushed some little kid while playing rugby which I still feel guilty about >.< I am also extremely sunburnt despite the fact I'm asian (where's my natural defence!), and that I did put some sunscreen on T_T Oh well, at least the view was kinda nice ^_^

Proof that I am like Iron Chef Australia, master of the BBQ! Why am I being outposed though, BOO!

Further proof of my elite culinary skills! Behold what I can do with a pack of frozen veggies, chicken breast, and a crapload of soy sauce and hoi sin sauce! Marvel at my FLIED LICE XD

...Hmm okie enough pics for now XD

(BTW I think I've decided on the Dell Screen n_n Consoles can wait, I <3 my PS2 still anyway ^^).

[music |Cassie - Me and U]

Heyo all, been a lil while since I last posted ^^; I've been out pretty much everyday since that last entry which is why I haven't had a chance to post! Also, because of that I don't know where to start T__T

Well to begin with, I've managed to keep up my more healthy routine, which I am pretty pleased with. I don't stay up until crazy hours of the morning playing games anymore (in fact, I haven't played anything since I finised FFXII 2 weeks ago @_@), and usually try to get to bed by 1 am latest. I have been forcing myself up by 9 to do weights and light cardio in the morning, and have spent a lot of hours commuting to Mac U and Syd U to play squash, which I do about twice a week. I'm quite an uncoordinated person so it has taken some time getting use to it, but I'm slowly improving and it's great for working up a sweat.

Since I'd never been very athletic before, I didn't actually own any clothes which were really suitable for playing sports in (Squash in jeans is yuck). So, I went out and spent a little bit (>.>;;) on new stuff like a racket, sweatbands, track pants, singlets, shirts... it was kinda fun! I was pleased at the end result of my sporty look <3

Oh I've finally been caught up in the Nana craze too! I watched the movie (OMG <3), and I loved how well they brang the manga to life. Takumi and Yasu in particular looked almost identical to their actual counterparts... I was so happily surprised ^_^ The scene between Ren and Nana made me cry too (the background song and the whole setting/atmosphere was really amazing). I'm upto Volume 15 of the manga now, and as you can probably tell from my icon, I loooooove Shin. The guy is such a mature, cute, little pimp ^o^

Anyways, I might post pics or something next entry... until next time ^^

PS: Kins do you have a new number or is it still the old one? @_@

What to do, what to do >. [Nov. 24th, 2006|04:08 am]

[music |Aya Hirano - God Knows...]

I want to buy a Dell 2407WFP 24" Widescreen monitor. It's absolutely huge, the colour contrast is gorgeous, and widescreen HD anime looks amazing on it. It also happens to be $1100 >.>

Now, since I'm planning to move out I should not be thinking about making such hefty purchases at this stage. I mean, I already have a Samsung 19" LCD which is barely over a year old, so upgrading to the Dell really isn't necessary at all, and as such I don't want to waste precious funds on it.

On the otherhand, I decided to give up World of Warcraft not long ago. My account has been inactive for about 2 weeks now, and out of curiosity I had a quick look on ebay at how much similarly geared rogues are selling for. An auction ended yesterday for an account which had slightly worse gear than mine which I was watching... it sold for $800.

So yes, I am very tempted to ebay it now... I might not be able to acquire the same amount (I checked just then and a few new accounts have appeared for sale which are better than mine, but selling for a bit less), but I am guaranteed at least $500. That would make purchasing a new monitor a whole lot cheaper n_n; Having spent a year playing though, I feel kinda attached to my chara... but if I'm quitting I shouldn't care right? Ahhhh decisions, decisions >.<

Oh I've decided to eat healthy now too =O I went and bought nashi pears yesterday, as well as some grapes and other fruit. I never knew fruit was so expensive! So much more expensive than junk food T__T I also met up with Mary for lunch at Sushi Train, and ate Karage which was uncovered (I still want to know why it was the only one without a lid!!!). Good luck to Mary in Melbourne yo, I'ma come visit next year! XD

The Search Continues~ [Nov. 21st, 2006|10:06 am]

[music |Chingy - One Call Away]

Firstly, thanks a lot to those of you who left me some tips ^^ I hadn't considered stuff like the necessity of extra power point sockets and such, so I was able to take on board a few more things to look for during the inspection. Sadly, I got to Strathfield only to be alarmed by the fact that all five properties I was there to inspect had all been sold! Apparently it is standard practice for Real Estate Agents to leave properties on their site even after the unit/apartment has been taken, and they update only once the tenant has settled in incase any problems arise which will force them to resell. Erm okay, thanks for notifying me of that Domain >.>

It wasn't time wasted, however, as my future flatmate and I were able to visit every real estate agent in Strathfield (damn, there were a lot o_O), and create a portfolio of available property from the brochures given. In the end we narrowed it down to 3 that we were most interested in, but as we aren't planning to move out until the week after New Year's, we are going to watch the market a bit and play it week by week for awhile. Not sure how long it takes to settle a rental contract acquisition, but I'm guessing it'd be like 2 weeks max so I don't want to get something now and find us paying rent when we're not even ready to move yet.

After a bit of a discussion, it became apparent that our priorities are slightly different which kinda sucks a bit. My friend is really easy-going and adaptable, and as such is primarily concerned with the vicinity of the station from our potential apartments, and that the rent is as cheap as possible. On the otherhand, I'm fairly concerned about the status of the place we're going to get, and preferably would like to get a slightly more modern place even if it is a bit more expensive. To be honest I'm probably not in the financial position to be so fussy, but this will be my *home* for who knows how long, so I can't help it if I'm picky >.< We'll work something out in the end though.

Holiday time now in anycase! BBQ and clubbing at Bamboo this weekend, I hope there's lots of cute girls to dance with <3

Moving Out =O [Nov. 20th, 2006|12:34 pm]

[music |Fang Yi Chen - Love Story]

Does anyone have any tips for apartment hunting? I'm going for my first round of inspections tommorrow after the end of my final exam, so I'll be happy to take onboard any advice you guys might have ^^

What, apartment hunting you say? Yes, that's right! By the beginning of next year, I will no longer be stuck in the middle of nowhere, deep within the furthest reaches of the South West (ie.hell/Campbelltown). To be honest, I've been wanting to move out for ages now, but finances and my own lack of self-survival skills had left me hesistant to actually go through with it. All this has now changed, however, as over the past three years I have evolved to a state where I can be much more self-reliant/independant. It also just so happens that a close friend of mine is in need of a place by next year as his parents are moving away to Canberra, and as our interests coincide it was an opportune moment to give this the go ahead. At this stage we've agreed to find a place in Strathfield close to the station, as it suits both our travel needs for university (Parra for me, Bankstown for him, both 20 mins away or so), and is only 15 mins away from the city by express train! While the option of getting a place in the city is still there, our price range dictates that we'd be living a fair way away from the nearest stations if we did, which wouldn't be ideal really since we're kinda reliant on public transport.

So yes, tommorrow will be the first round of inspections... hopefully we'll find something we like n_n; Sadly, my plans to go on a vacation to Taiwan these holidays will have to be put on hiatus, since all my available funds and savings really need to go into furnishing/moving out. Although, I am still reaaaaaaaaaally tempted to get a 24" Dell monitor, but that will have to wait until I can be sure I can afford to part with a grand or so n_n;;;

Wish me luck ne! 2007 promises to be an exciting time for me ^^

[music |La Corda D'Oro ED Theme - Stella Quintet]

Well I was planning to put in an entry about what I'm currently keeping up with this anime season. I wanted to tell you all about how much I'm enjoying Death Note (having never read the manga before) and Code Gaess (Lelouch is such a girly name though!), as well as the fact that I decided to check out D Gray Man as well (seems promising so far, and Lenalee is so cute!).

But all that has changed.

Instead, I must dedicate this ENTIRE post to what will be known in weeks to come as the best of this season's offerings, the pinnacle of anime for 2007. I present to you ladies and gentleman, the Dark Horse that will surely win the hearts of all anime fans this year!

La Corda D'Oro ~Primo Passo~

I don't want to spoil too much of the awesome storyline, but basically it goes like this.

- Random schoolgirl meets fairy (no not the Mr Waffles kind, the real little flying-type fairies).
- Fairy tells her she will compete in an elite annual musical contest inspite of her complete lack of musical skills.
- Fairy gives her a MAGIC VIOLIN with matching bow and case. Diligently, she begins to unravel the mysteries of her new instrument, while having chance encounters with her competitors (who all look like Kyou Kara Maou rejects/twins).

If you're not sold already, I don't know what is wrong with you! LOL, in all honesty it's not completely bad, but I just found the concept totally whack XD I'm a sucker for band anime (Gravitation, Kaikan Phrase... bishies + music = win), but never have I seen the protagonist given A MAGIC VIOLIN WITH MATCHING CASE by a FAIRY. In anycase, it's clearly the best thing our atm, so go watch it while you can! The title is Italian as far as I can tell ( I did study the language for 10 years, though I haven't used it in about 5 >.>), and translates into something like "The Strings of Time ~First [Uhh forgot what passo means.... something to do with time, or phase perhaps? @_@). Yay at the usefulness of learning languages at school! >.>

In other news, I got a new phone. It's not really much different from my old phone (K750i) as it's just the upgraded model, but it comes with a 3.2 MP camera and a real Xenon flash which is hawt. No crappy lighting for night time photos anymore!

Oh and I think I have exams and stuff? Whoops. >.

Supanova Report! [Nov. 5th, 2006|05:45 pm]

[mood |tiredtired]
[music |Goo Goo Dolls - Iris]

I believe I promised a write up earlier but for one reason or another never got around to doing one. So I guess I'll start on it now... what better time to begin than 4 am on a Monday morning >.>

Actually, I'm hella tired so I'm just going to be brief, so please forgive me =P

- Friday was setup day as per usual, but strangely enough I spent the entirety of it accompanying Adrian around shopping for stall utilities and other important umm... 'stuff' >.> Discovered that Woolworths has a Xbox 360 stall which was pretty surprising =O Dinner was at a local random Chinese restaurant which didn't turn out to be half bad, though the Tama crew was shocked by the fact they served Chinese tea in huge ass cups WITH HANDLES on SAUCERS. W T F? o_O (I also asked for Bo Lei Cha which is a specfic type but readily available tea at most places, to which the waiter replied "We don't have that here only green tea, try Chinatown for that stuff!")

- Saturday was pretty much as busy as expected. Got to see Sly brush past briefly, as well as Mel, Jacky, Asham, Dave and a few others ^^ My most notable achievement of the day was managing to sell off the two huge Advent Children statues of Cloud and Sephiroth which I initially thought about procuring myself! The Sephiroth was sold to the AC fangirl that I've seen at pretty much every con (she cosplayed as Lulu last Supanova or the one before I think ^^;), and the Cloud went to another fangirl who was into lots of other bishy stuff too! Managed to sell her an Advent Children book ('cause Seph looks hawt on the front), a Byakuya captain coat and a bunch of plushies (Fai, Ayame, Yuki) as well. All bishounen related products, so she clearly had good taste! ^o^
Dinner that night was at a restauarant we've come quite accustomed too from our Sydney cons, and thankfully they served tea in mangable cups so I could actually drink some this time =P

- Sunday morning started with a rush... a rush of tumbleweed >.> I think everyone forgot to set their clocks! Things picked up a bit as the day progressed, but Sunday is Sunday. In anycase, had a bit of time to look around and picked up Infernal Affairs 2+3 for a decent price, as well as a Saber figure for $40 near the end of the day. This was overshadowed by all the cool stuff I picked up from Tamarket itself though, with notable highlights being the super cute Ouran High mug (which is a very manly pink! >.>) and a rare Bleach wall clock which I'll hang up once I move into a new place keke.

Overall was a fun weekend (thankfully managed to get a lot more sleep this con weekend than I usually do), though I was disappointed that I didn't get to do any ownage in Big 2! (Ask any of the Tama staff, with my lucky charms in place I am unstoppable >.>). Will have to wait for Brisbane I guess!

Time for Zzzz!~

Playstation 3 [Oct. 31st, 2006|01:49 am]

[music |Jolin Tsai - Chun Chun Yu Dong]

I was actually considering an import of this baby from Japan seeing as the system will be region free anyhow, but with Lik-Sang permanently shut down and with Play Asia no longer willing to sell PS3 units (most likely because of the Lik Sang debacle), it seems rather difficult now to get my hands on one. My fave online store for music CD's/DVD's Yes Asia is still willing to sell a PS3 to the less privledged continents though... for the affordable price of US$1,899.00 (roughly 2.5k AUD). LOL MONOPOLY ANYONE?

In other news, the convention year is finally done with Supanova 2007 officially over! I'll have a full report next update, but yeah, it was fun ^o^
